Added hotfix that should work to both versions(post fix hf)

New stuff in 1.71(hf)

-I've added another download option for a version with a similar memory management that 1.6 had. The downside is that it may lag like 1.6 and previous version did, but atleast it will work on older machines that can't handle the new memory management. This version is called 1.71om(old memory). As I have to deal with 2 versions of the gun sounds every update, there might be something I forget to add something to one of them that the other one have, but I will try my best to remember!
-New reload sounds for all guns. (not really new, just shortned the old reload sound to most of the guns so it fits the RoF of the guns.
-New reload sound for some 100mm guns.
-New reload sound for 105mm L52 guns.
-New reload sound for BL-10 and M-64.
-Fixed the broken smoke effect of the 107mm guns.
-Added distant sound to the 100mm D-54 guns.

First a small reminder. I see alot of you claiming that these sounds are Historically realistic, but they are not. They are improved and better, but just hypothetical, and not realistic to their real world counterparts.

The trademark Historical Realism is just there because the gun sounds is from the team Historical Realism which was just a bunch of people who created realistic remodels or improved ones from the game.

Now onto the new stuff!

I will call this one: The Soviet update!

Here's the 1944 version which is more authentic

-5.1 surround added! Thanks to Kriegstreiber for his help!
-New memory management! The game should run much better now than ever!
-Added new sound for the 90mm M3(and similar guns) and the 100mm D10 guns. They use the sound from the M48 Patton and the T-54 from Bad Company 2 Vietnam. Thanks to Matt Bath for recording these sounds!
-Added new sounds for the 100mm D-54 guns. It uses the sound of the T-90A's 2A46 125 mm gun in Battlefield 3.
-120mm M58 and L1A1 got a similar treatment. They got the sound of the M1A2 Abrams' 120mm L44 M256 gun in Battlefield 3
-Changed sound path to most of the Russian and Chinese 100mm guns.
-Added a "Clong" sound to the long barreled 45mm VT-42/43 and the 107mm ZiS-24, because they are longer than the other guns of same caliber.
-New reload sound for screw breech 122mm D-25(the slow reloading one)
-Changed the delay for the reload of some long-time-to-reload-tank guns to better fit the tank destroyer's counterpart.
-Fixed some missing gun sounds.

It's like the most awesome gun sound I could've imagine!

  9. I loved this mod until this update. The game is stuttering a lot with this update. I think everytime a new sound is needed in the game, the game freezes for something like half a second to a second. This makes the game unplayable for me. Deinstalled this update and the freezes are gone. I think the 1.6 had the problem also, but a lot less noticable... Quite a dissapointment for me, as a loved the mod...

I am using a Samsung R620 laptop with windows 7. It has 4 GB of RAM and a ATI Radeaon HD 4300 with 0,5 GB of VRAM.

  12. I have major problems with this mod. I found it just today and wanted to try it out.

With v 1.7 the Client was still able to run, but except for gun sounds, I had no audio ingame...

I tried v1.71 just now but the client is crashing right before the login screen should be shown.

I also disabled all other mods I had, but nothing changed...
    Can anyone help me???

    1. I also have a problem with crashing. Tried to revert back to v1.61 and v1.7, but my game still crashes the same way.

Btw, if you have no audio ingame, try copying "audio" folder from res to res_mods and then applying the mod again.

    2. Yeah, now it's working, but still the same problem with 1.71. And I must say, for the very first time, I was able to hear something, great mod :)

  18. Thanks for the new version of your great sound mod. I've found some issues, in Ferdinand (12,8 cm PaK 44 L/55) and Lowe (10,5 cm KwK 46 L/70) the reload time is about 10 seconds, but the reload sound lasts about 15-16 seconds. Its not a big problem, but I will stay with 1.70 for now. Keep up the good work :)

  19. Hey, thanks for the hard work on the mod update!

I only have one issue with the new version: the sound for the L1A1 while inside the tank sounds really lacklustre - it's just like a small clicky noise and that's about it.

As an avid Conqueror driver, I would greatly appreciate it if you could make this sound a little beefier :)

    Thanks!

    1. Can't do much about it, as the sound is really loud and as I want to keep it, there won't be much difference when adding some additional sounds.

      It's from the M1A2 Abrams from BF3.

  20. Hey there!

I love these gun sounds althouogh lately i experience a loud buzzing noise every time the artilery shoots. This is really loud and can only be arranged by shotting down the sound of World of tanks completely. Is there a way to fix this? I wish to hear them clearly. :(
(Lol i thought the T-54 gun sound came from Battlefield 1942 - Desert combat mod. :) )
    Keep up the awesome job!

    1. Is it buzzing in the left channel? If so, play with stereo setup untill 0.8.6 comes out(which will fix this issue)

What T-54 gun. The T-54 got 4 guns. Almost all of them have an entirely different designation(D10, LB-1, D-54), but none of them sounds like anything that I can recall from Desert Combat.

The 130mm gun for the IS-7 and the Obj, 263 uses the reload sound of the T-72 "Lion of Bablyon" in Desert Combat Final.

    3. Yes it does. But i can't change it to stereo (I'm using a Logitech G35) it only supports 7.1 and there is no option to set it otherwise. :D

I'm using the D-54 gun. Phew maybe it has been a while since i played Desert combat then. :)

      Thanks for the help.

    4. The sound for the D-54 is from BF3 :/

    5. Guys i got a solution for the cutting problem. First delete your audio out of the res_mods then you need to copy the sounds folder from res to res_mods, then drop the modded sounds in and overwrite the ones its changing.

I think the problem was that instead of using the game sounds it only starts using your res_mods and now when you put both in there its not gonna conflict and just use the sounds in the res_mods only.

  22. Sorry, I have an issue with this mod.
I'm aware that 7.1 sound is borked so I use 5.1 sound when playing WoT.

    I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty Champion csoundcard

plugged into Creative GigaWorks S750 speakers:
    http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/multimedia/display/creative-gigaworks-s750.html

When I game, some tanks gives me issues with subwoofer bass clipping eg. inside the turret of Indien panzer.

The Creative control panel is set at gaming mode, 5.1 speakers, X-Fi CMSS-3D is on, surround mode 50%, bass redirection is off.

It sounds like some o the gunsounds go to powerfull (dB) at low Hz, making my subwoofer make a loud "KLOOMPF!!!" when it hit's it's limits for movement.

This is the only game that exsibits this kind of behaviour, so could you start looking into possible clipping in the soundfile used for the 90mm Indien-Panzer gun inside the turret?

Or could you send me the sourcefile, so I could "normalize" it for you if needed?

I love your mod, but I cannot risk my hardware over a game :(

  23. The reload sounds for the American T34 are the same ones used for the Russian KV-2 which are not only totally different tanks they are totally different reload speeds so the T34 reload sound is still happening after you can fire.
