Historical Realism Gun Sounds

So I have finally finished the gun sounds for the "longly awaited" sound pack.

This include sounds from:

Forgotten Hope 2.45 for Battlefield 2

Forgotten Hope 0.7 for Battlefield 1942

Forgotten Hope Secret Weapons 0.42 for Battlefield 1942

Battlefield 1942

Battlegroup42 1.8 for Battlefield 1942


The sound pack features a bunch of .xml files which will give each gun a unique sound. Well, atleast there is a greater variety of gun sounds.

Please note that the mod is not final and I could need some feedback about each gun sound and if there are any sounds you want replaced or changed.

    Missing all other sounds when I try this, any idea why? The gun sounds are amazing however :P

    Too heavy bass, a good audio equipment sounds are played out of tune. You have to clean the lower range of samples.

      Sounds like speakers are broken. in fact, its quite noisy.

      I know, I overdid the delay of some sounds, without knowing the how long the reload time is. I will fix it once I get a list of the reload times of all guns.

    Can someone help me? i downloaded these sound and put them into res_mods/audio and also put there old audio from res/audio but when i am in battle i cant hear these gun sounds where is problem?

      Copy attached to the package directory "scripts" to res_mods, thats all :)

      i did it i copyed scripts and audio to res_mods/0.7.5/ and it isn´t working. I could hear the gun sound but i couldnt hear the other sounds-music,crew...so i copyed audio from res/audio into audio in res_mods/0.7.5/ and now i can hear other sounds but gun sounds no. Where is problem?

      I did differently. Sometimes the game is less stable by sound mods. I made a backup res/audio, then copied this mod to res/audio. Scripts placed in the directory res_mods. And now working stable.

      I have no idea how that can happend. You might try to reinstall the game, or just remove the mod.

    Having some bad issues with this, arty etc sounds like badly distorted explosions. Not sure whats going on.
    Removing it for now, maybe ill try again some other time when its in better shape :)

      It might be the Hummel. I couldn't find any other sound, but that's actually a real recording of the Sfh18! :O

    I really like the gun sounds, especially the "autoloader" sound after shot in an AMX. But it could be made a little bit louder, it kinda fades into the surroundings.

    Also, the hit sounds when vehicles collide or a shot ricochets sound more like a deflected handgun bullets from a Wetstern cowboy movie :D These should be changed IMO.

      It's because the collision sound shares the ricochet sound. I know. Dumb decission.

    Absolutely amazing gun sounds. I'm combining it with an older set of your engine sounds and another modder's CoH voices, and the combined sounds make for incredible atmosphere.

    My favorite is sniper mode in an autoloader-equipped tank. BOOM-whirr-clank-BOOM-whirr-clank-BOOM... etc. :D

    I would like the loading sounds (falling shells, clanking, autoloader sound) to be audible in arcade mode,too.

      I'm sorry I can't do that in the same way, unless you want all of these sounds, like the reloading sound of the 203mm to be heard when e.g the M2 LT fires its .50 cal, so no. I'm sorry :(

    Hi, first, thanks for the great sounds. Second, they need some work. I imagine you had to do some level balancing to get the softer ones up to appropriate levels, but in doing so the mid-bass to lows got rather severely bloated. I know you may not have enough time to fix it, so if you wanted to, you could just send me the original files and I can level them and all without bloating anything. As it is, arty splash and hits are pretty distorted down low, but you would need decent speakers/cans to hear it.

    Or if anyone can pull the audio files out, I just don't know how to do it. Again, thanks for your work!

      Copy your audio folder from "res", paste it in res_mods/0.7.5/, then, AND ONLY AFTER, install the mod ;)

    Hey guys! Just stopped by to give a HUGE thanks for the gun sounds!
    I downloaded them the day they were posted on your page, and have never turned back. By far my favorite (and I'm the guy that tries every mod I see).

    Keep up the good work! You could really be on to something with the collective mod-pack of gun sounds if you were to "brush up" the sounds a bit. They sound amazing, but could always use some polish, as far as extreme detail goes.

    Hello!

    I actually like the new 0.8.0 gun sounds. But without the reloading sound it's kind of bland. Could you please make a variation of this mod, that would not change the gun sounds, but would only add reloading sounds (shells falling and clanking, gun breach, autoloader etc.)?

    I would appreciate that very much!

    I just downloaded this mod and it seems WoT does not want to start up...I may have messed up the addition of the mod since I just copy pasted the various moded XML files into their defaut WoT files thinking it may save the steps mentioned in the comments... Will I have to completly redownload the game? or am I doing a simple mistake
