Historical Realism Mod Gun Sounds v1.21

New stuff.

-0.8.2 compatibility

-EXTREME MAKEOVER OF THE SOUNDS! They have more bass and sound, and can be heard at a longer distance!

-Added 100mm sound for top tier soviet guns.

-Added 122mm sound for top tier soviet guns.

-Added autoloading sound for the mentioned soviet guns.

-Added 130mm sound.

-NEW SUPEREPICNOVABBQ tracer for high caliber artillery guns.

-New explosion sounds.

-New hit sounds for large caliber guns.

-Adjusted so that original hit sounds is intergrated with my hit sounds.

-A handy feature: Most premium ammo will use original sounds. This may help you out of many premium round situations.

-Added 105mm L7 autoloader sound for the T54E1's top gun.

-No need for the hotfix anymore to get the tracers. Sorry Crabtr :( Hope you loved your fame as long as it lasted!

-I have no idea if there's more.

-Oh, sure it is! New 155mm Anti-tank sound for sniper mode! :D

-And added 85mm sound

-That should be it. Now let me listen to some Manneheim Steamroller Christmas music while I drink mulled wine! >:C

In v1.21

-Forgot to add the scripts for the 85mm in v1.2. They are now added.

-New 88mm L71 sound and reloading sound from MW212.

-Added 20pdr sound which uses the old L71 sound

*please note that the location mentioned in the readme on where to extract my sounds is wrong. It should be just res_mods instead of 0.8.2

Good luck translating this with a straight face, Russian friends! :P

Also, I recommend enabling Bass Boost and Loudness Equalization for the best experience!

To do this go to(Windows 7) Control Panel>Sound>right click *your sound device*>Properties>Enhancements and tick the boxes for Bass Boost and Loudness Eqalization.

    So, as always.... I don't hear any of my own gun sounds. But I sometimes hear the other. Sometimes...

    Un-zipped version in only "res_mods" didn't work at all, so I did it in res_mods/0.8.2 ... see above.

      I played my Jagdtiger with stock gun, I heard quite well the very good sound of the 128mm gun from Battlegroup42, but the volume of the sound himself was very low... my game's volume settings are at 100%.

      I get that bug too with my Panzer II : I hear very well the 2 first shots, then the volume of the gun's sound is going smaller and smaller... not the game's volume, the gun's sounds.

      Correction : the 2cm FlaK 38 L/112 seem to work fine, except 1 shot I didn't hear.
      The hit sounds are like the rest : sometimes heard, sometimes muted.

      check all the files Gnome, it doesnt work correctly, 8.1 version worked great, this doesnt.

      Sorry Gnome, seems it's not your fault. Many people have this scratching / buzzing noise problem since 8.2

      I did some change on sound settings (of Windows, just adjusting the numer of speakers), then I installed the Gnomefather's engine mod, then the gun sound mod...

      Without hope of the gun sounds, I rolled out my Churchill I, engines worked fine... gun sounds too O.o

    after some time i figured out that:
    If you have buzzing problem change condiguration of yours speakers to quadro or turn off 7.1 emulation or smth like that.

    All other sounds disappeared from my game as soon as I installed this gun sound mod. Just before installing this mod pack I installed the "hypersk's Maybach engine sound mod" and I tested playing with it and all was well, then I installed your gun sound mod pack and now there are only the gun sounds present. Is there some known glitch that I could resolve and fix my sounds? Or do I just have to uninstall the gun sounds or the engine sounds? In 0.8.1 these both mods worked perfectly together.

      Nice. I can understand some Russian and knows the entire Cyrillic alphabet, but I would need to play 20 matches before I can post, and I can't speak more than just basic Russian so it would be hard for me to write something for the Russian community.

      But I can see that you Russians love it, and got it stickied in the sound modding section.

      I knew that you hosted the thread long ago, and I have kept following it to see the feedback from the Russian players.

      You have to extract your .../World_of_Tanks/res/audio/ folder to .../res_mods/0.8.2

      Then, and ONLY THEN, install the mod.


      A lot of peoples get that bug but a lot of peoples don't seem to read the readme as Magnus Ferdinand said below...

    Why is it that all the WOT-sounds (including this mod) seem so incredibly over compressed? They sound like they've been compressed to 64 kbit/22khz or something.

    That was the reason I started looking for alternatives for the original game sounds. These sound more realistic indeed, but suffer from the same overly compressed quality IMO. What do you say?

    All the mod sounds are working fine for me except when my own tank gets hit, there is no sound when my tank gets hit. Anybody else who got this problem?
